BARETHA WILDLIFE SANCTUARY
Baretha Wildlife Sanctuary is located close to the Baretha village in the state of Rajasthan. It was
established in the year 1985.

Reaching There
The Jaipur airport and Agra airport are the closest airports near the Baretha Wildlife Sanctuary.
Bharatpur railway station, about 6 km away, is the nearest railway terminal. The sanctuary is well
linked with major cities of Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi through well developed
roadways.
Tourist Information
Accommodation is available for the incoming tourists in the forest rest house at Bharatpur. More
accommodation options are available at Baretha and other nearby areas of the sanctuary. Carry
mosquito repellants for a comfortable stay at the accommodation centres. Jeep safari, bird watching
and natural trail are popular tourist activities in the region. Jeeps or gypsy are the best travel mode
to explore the forest. The wetlands within the sanctuary are the best place to sight the wildlife.
Entry and driving after the sunset in the sanctuary are strictly prohibited. Littering, cooking, honking,
playing loud music and drinking alcohol inside the sanctuary are strictly prohibited. For any
information or arrangement the tourist can contact the D.F.O., Bharatpur or the Range Forest Officer
(Wildlife), Bund Baretha Sanctuary.
Mahadev Mandir, Dhundheshvar, Surya Mandir, Chand Baori, Bhangarh Fort, Somnath Temple, Jama
Masjid, Bayana, Aghapur, Royal Palace at Bund Baretha and Dauji Wale Hanuman Temple are some
of the popular tourist spots near the sanctuary.
