Bassi Wildlife Sanctuary is situated close to the Bassi village in the state of Rajasthan. It is nestled along the western border of the Vindhyachal range. The sanctuary was established in 1988. The famous Bassi and Orai dams are situated within the Bassi sanctuary.

Reaching There
Maharana Pratap Airport at Udaipur, about 70 km away is the nearest airport to Bassi Wildlife Sanctuary. The nearest bus and railway terminals are located at Chittorgarh, which is about 25 km. away. From Chittorgarh one can also hire taxis or private vehicles to reach the sanctuary.

Tourist Information
Different budget resorts and hotels are available around the sanctuary for the accommodation of incoming tourists. Jeep safari, boating, bird watching, nature photography and angling are major tourist activities in the sanctuary. Jeep and Gypsy are ideal to explore the wildlife sanctuary.
The wetlands of the sanctuary are the ideal places to spot the wildlife in its natural habitat. Special permission has to be obtained from the District Forest Officer, stationed at Chittorgarh, for entering the Bassi Sanctuary. The local forest staff can be hired as guides to the reserve. Tower of Fame, Vijay Stambha, Meera Temple and the Chittorgarh Fort are some of the popular tourist spots situated around the Bassi sanctuary.
