Kolkata holds many festivals throughout the year. Major festivals include Durga Puja and Kali Puja. These are held in autumn every year. Colourful pandals and decorative lights are seen all over. Idols of Hindu goddess Durga and Kali are placed inside the pandals. During Kali puja all kinds of fireworks are seen and heard. Other festivals include Dol Yatra, Saraswati Puja, Eid-ul-Fitr, Eid-ud-Joha, Christmas and Poila Baisakh etc. Other festivals like Music and International Film festivals are also celebrated in Kolkata. I like all the colourful festivals.
