JAMBUGHODA WILDLIFE SANCTUARY
Jambughoda Wildlife Sanctuary is situated at Panchamahals district in Gujarat. It is about 71km away
from the cosmopolitan city of Vadodara (earlier known as Baroda). Prior to independence, the forest
area was a part of the princely state of Jambughoda.

Vegetation type: teak forest and bamboo forest
Trees: sadad, sag, shisham, khair, timru, dudhalo, bamboos, dhav, bor, bili, etc.

Leopard, sloth bear, panther, four-horned antelopes, blue bull, barking deer, porcupine, crocodiles,
python, etc.

Jungle fowl, parrot, owl, hawk, common myna, bulbul, etc,
Getting there
The nearest bus terminal and railway station are located at Shivrajpur. Another closest bus station to
Jambughoda Wildlife Sanctuary is located at Bodeli in Vadodara, about 12km away. The closest airports
are in Vadodara (90km) and Ahmedabad (180km). From Vadodara, the tourists can approach
Jambughoda sanctuary via Daboi, Bodeli or through Halol, Pavagadh.
Tourist Information
The visitors to the sanctuary can find quality accommodation at the forest rest houses at Targol Dam
and at Kada. Camping facilities are also available at Kada.
The landscape of Jambughoda sanctuary offers excellent opportunities for camping, trekking and hiking.
It is advised to carry mosquito repellents if one plans to stay or camp overnight in the sanctuary.
Pavagadh (pilgrim centre), Kalika temple, Targol dam, Kada Dam, Sukhi Dam, Jhand Hanuman temple,
and Champaner (an UNESCO World Heritage site) are some of the nearby popular tourist places.
