NUGU WILDLIFE SANCTUARY

Nugu Wildlife Sanctuary is located to the north of the famed Bandipur National Park. Very little is known about this sanctuary as it is still recovering from its earlier dilapidation. The flora species of Nugu sanctuary is quite identical to that of the Bandipur National Park. This sanctuary is believed to have been established in the year 1974.

Getting There
The closest railway station is at Mysore and the nearest airport is situated in Bangalore. Nugu Wildlife Sanctuary is well connected by roadways to Mysore, Bangalore and other chief towns and cities of the state.

Tourist Information
Quality accommodation can be found in the nearby city of Mysore and Mangalore.
Drinking, making loud noise and carrying pets inside the sanctuary are strictly prohibited. Carry enough provisions of food and water with you while visiting the sanctuary.
The tourism in the Nugu sanctuary has not been developed fully. Wear comfortable attires with shades that easily blend with the forest environment, preferably olive green or khaki colours. Stick to the assigned paths and do not venture into prohibited zones. Avoid flash photography as it may agitate the wildlife.
