YAWAL WILDLIFE SANCTUARY

Yawal wildlife sanctuary is situated at Yawal Tehsil in the Jalgaon district in Maharashtra. It is nestled along the banks of rivers Manjal and Anner that flow towards Madhya Pradesh border.

Flora
Forest type: southern tropical dry deciduous forests Major Species: Teak, Ain, Anjan, Awala, Shisam, Tiwas, Khair, Salai, Haldu, Tendu, Jamun, Bamboo, Charoli, etc.

Fauna
Leopards, deers, tigers, sambars, sloth bear, chinkara, wolves, blue bull, wild dogs, barking deer, jungle cat, flying squirrels, palm civet, etc.

Avian Fauna
Mostly comprises grass land birds and hill birds.

Getting There Aurangabad Airport (95 km away) and Jalgaon Airport are the closest airports to Yawal wildlife sanctuary. Raver Railway Station (on Mumbai Bhusawal Khandwa Route) and Bhusawal railway station are the nearest railway stations. The nearest major bus stand is at Raver.

Tourist Information
British era old forest rest house at Langda Amba offers quality staying facilities to the incoming tourists. Forest rest house situated at Yawal is another option for the visitors. Carry your own mosquito repellants if you wish to lodge overnight.
Always remain alert and attentive during your trip to the sanctuary. Avoid listening to music in your head phone. Wear neutral colour, light cotton attires for your trip and carry enough water and food along with you. Avoid making a trip to the sanctuary during the rainy season as heavy rain makes most part of the reserve difficult to access.
Bird watching, jungle safaris, nature photography and nature trail are popular tourist activities. The best place to spot the migratory and resident bird species are near the banks of Suki Lake. For reservation and other information, visitors can contact the Deputy Conservator of Forest.
Garbaldi Dam, Parola Fort, Unapdeo Hot Water Springs, Patnadevi, Swinging Towers of Farkande, Saint Muktabai Temple, Manudevi Temple and Changdeo Temple are popular tourist spots around the sanctuary.
